Clear Lake Lioness Club
The Clear Lake Lioness Club, consisting of members from Clear Lake, Becker and surrounding areas, are to join other Lioness Clubs from around central Minnesota in a group meeting. Clubs will be from Anoka, Big Lake, Cedar East Bethel, Clear Lake, Lino Lakes, Montrose, North Branch and St. Francis. Big Lake Lioness will host the event to be held at the Big Lake Lions Park. The event is scheduled for October 24. Registration and social hour will be followed by dinner and a meeting. Our Lioness Clubs serve their local communities in many ways. Young @ Heart Meeting
Thurs., Oct, 20, starting at 10:30 a.m. with card playing, games and coffee time, followed by luncheon served at noon (suggested donation of $4.50). Following the October meal an attorney will present an Estate Planning Seminar. Young @ Heart is a time of food and fun for Clearwater-Clear Lake area 55+. Memory Writers, Thurs., Oct. 13, 10-11 a.m. Adults are invited. Local author Linda Marie will provide tips on how to record personal life stories. No writing experience necessary. ColorRama, Fri., Oct. 14, 3-6 p.m. Teens and adults are invited to ColoRama. Enjoy this stress reducing activity scheduled for Fridays after school. Coloring sheets and pencils provided. 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten, Sat., Oct. 15, 11 a.m. The Clearwater Public Library will have a graduation ceremony for the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program. Young readers that have reached the 1,000 books milestone will graduate. Preschoolers may join this program any day of the year. Clearwater Area Friends of the Library Used Book Sale
Browse and buy from hundreds of used books. All proceeds help support the Clearwater Library. Oct. 18 - 22, hours of the sale are Tues., Thurs., & Fri., 10-6 p.m.; Wed., 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; Sat. - 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tax deductible donations of books, particularly teen and children's books, are now being accepted. Bring them to the Clearwater Library any time the library is open. Books may be gently used, but will not be accepted if dirty, smelly or moldy. Encyclopedias, textbooks, magazines and medical books will also not be accepted.
Christian Motorcyclists Assoc. Monthly Meetings
The Crossroads Chapter 644 will having monthly meetings every third Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at Nelson Brothers in Clearwater.
