Treasures and Traditions Brunch
Nov. 10, 9:30 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, Annandale will take you on a wonderful journey into Swedish Christmas traditions as Bonnie Neisess of Milford, IA, shares about traditional foods, Santa Lucia, and other Christmas customs. Music from Joanne Quandt of Annandale and hear Bonnie Neisess's story about the Ultimate Treasure. Safe Kids Event
Becker School District is hosting a Safe Kids event Thurs., Nov. 3, 6:30-8 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center. Sherburne Co. Families First group is sponsoring this event in Becker and other surrounding school districts. The discussion topics are geared toward parents of students in fifth grade and above, however, any interested community members are welcome to attend. Doors open at 6 pm on Nov. 3, refreshments will be available.
2016 Toys for Tots
Christmas is just around the corner, the start of the Community Toys for Tots campaign is getting underway again for the children of Big Lake, Becker, Clearwater, Clear Lake and Monticello communities. Applications to receive toys through the program can be picked up at city hall or the food shelf in any of these five towns. This includes Big Lake school district residents with an Elk River address. Applications will be accepted through Dec. 6. Distribution date will be Sat., Dec. 17. Our program is in need of volunteers. Anyone interested in volunteering or donating toys or funds should contact Dr. Stacy, 763-482-4447, or by e-mail communitytoysfortots@gmail.com.

Wed., Nov. 2, 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Sherburne Co. Recorders office, for first time applicant’s only. No appointment necessary, routine & expedite service offered. Applications are available online or in our office. Photos are done in our office for $15 or you can bring your own. Checks only, cash or credit is not accepted. Upcoming Events at Clearwater Library
