Youngsters compete at Field of Dreams Tourney

Becker’s 11AAA baseball team competed in the Field of Dreams Tournament in Dyersville, IA, June 14-16, 2024.

On Day 1 (Friday), the boys competed in the Field of Dreams skills competition against 12 other teams from states that included Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Michigan. The skills competition held three events, Quick Hands Competition, Speedster, and Home Run Derby.

On Day 2 (Saturday), Becker defeated Elmbrook Braves (Milwaukee area) 13-12. In their second game they fell to Dyersville Blazers, 6-5.

On Day 3, (Sunday) Becker defeated Homer Heat (Chisago area), 15-2 in their first game then fell to the Muskies Gold team (Muscatine, IA), 2-1.

“So proud of this Becker 11AAA team and how well they represented Becker Baseball on this big of a stage,” said Head Coahc Ryan Goodman. “All four games the team received compliments on different aspects from the umpires and in this day and age that shows a lot especially with some of the things the umpires were dealing with from other teams.”

The boys played their hearts out but lost to a very good team from Muscatine, Iowa that ended our run in bracket play,” Goodman said. “Such a great experience for this team and excited for their future! Go Bulldogs!”
