The Becker Bulldog girls volleyball team split two matches this past week, improving their season record to 13-12.

 

The girls traveled to Milaca  Tuesday evening and showed some jitters early on but won the first match by three. The girls found their stride after they switched sides and played very well the rest of the way, dominating the next two games to win in a sweep.  

 

The scores were 25-22, 25-12, 25-8.

 

Sam Haugen had eight kills and one block. Sam Angell had14 kills, 10 digs and four aces. Kalie Jergens had six kills, Brynn Barthel seven kills, Whitney Raygor and Sydney Busch combined for 29 assists and Alexa Hanowski had 15 digs and two aces.

 

Thursday, the team traveled to Mora for the Mustangs’ Homecoming game in front of a huge crowd.  The Becker girls battled and never gave up, but in the end, it took just a few errors to keep the win out of reach.

 

Scores were 27-25, 25-15, 27-29, 19-25, 15-11.

 

Haugen had a great game, notching 12 kills, five blocks and three aces. Angell finished with 18 kills and 11 digs. Jergens had 10 kills, Barthel seven kills and seven blocks. Kalley Anderson had eight kills, Raygor and Busch combined for 40 assists and Hanowski had 14 digs.

 

Tuesday Becker hosts their final regular season home match against Zimmerman at 7:15 p.m. Seeding for the Section 8AAA tournament begins  Mon., Oct. 20 with first round games starting Oct. 22.
