Kalie Jergens had 12 kills and Kalley Anderson added 10 as host Becker beat Mora, 3-0, in a Granite Ridge Conference match and final bout of the regular season last Thursday night.
It was also “senior night” where four of the team’s players were honored.
Game scores were 25-22, 25-17, 25-12.
Daisy Kent had 15 set assists. Jergens added nine digs and Anderson had four blocks. Alexa Hanowski had 17 digs.
The Section 8AAA Tournament begins today (Saturday) with the Bulldogs (23-4) taking on #11-seeded Detroit Lakes (11-18) at 7 p.m. at Becker High School in the quarterfinals (Becker received a first round bye and are seeded #3).
The winner will play Wednesday in the semi-finals at the higher seed’s home court against either #7-seeded Alexandria (15-13) or #2-seeded Bemidji (16-11).
The section championship match will be at a neutral site Friday at 7 p.m.
Other teams competing in the quarterfinal section tournament are #1-seeded Moorhead (23-4) against #8-seeded St. Cloud Tech (13-12) and #4-seeded Willmar (16-10) versus #5-seeded Sauk Rapids-Rice (16-11).
