U15 Becker/Big Lake Soccer Team Takes Second At  Fire Cup

The U15, C2 girls soccer team from Tri-County United took second place in the Burnsville Fire Cup Tournament last weekend.

Tri-County United is a combination of Becker/Big Lake and other surrounding communities.

The team is made up of mostly 14-year-olds playing up on an U15 team and they played their hearts out.

The girls faced a tough Hastings team late Sunday in the championship match.  TCU held Hastings to a 0-0 score until a few minutes left in the game, when Hasting put the ball in the back of the net to take the lead. TCU had dominated the game, but now had just a few minutes to try and tie it up.

They were unable to. It was a heartbreaker.

TCU is coached by Danielle Gau, (recent graduate of U of M - Crookston).

The players include Sophia Lange, Faith Madsen, Kaylin Peterson, Megan Gamble, Liz Doyle, Aubrey Barthel, Karsyn Forgey, Mya Turner, Erika Minor, Elle Schendzielos, Izzy Carlson, Ava Vizenor, Emily Moore, Kelsey Meyer, Rose Roehlke and Lilly Berglund.

The girls have two regular season games left and the state qualifier.
