SENIOR FORWARD ANDREW DAVALOS scored 26 points in two games this week but it wasn’t enough as the Bulldogs dropped two games to fall to 5-5.

Two Spartan Teams Take Down Bulldogs

The Becker Bulldogs boys basketball team lost to two Spartan teams this week dropping their record to 5-5.
 
Rocori 70, Becker 51
 
The Bulldogs lost to Rocori Tuesday night on the road by a score of 70-51.
 
The Spartans (10-1) led 5-0 right away, causing Becker head coach Josh Ihrke to take a timeout 1:12 into the game.
 
Rocori, ranked seventh in the state in Class 3A, rolled from there.
 
Rocori held a 42-26 rebounding advantage over Becker. Derek Thompson, a 6-foot-7 junior post, and Austin Overman, a 6-2 senior, had a lot do with that.
 
Thompson finished with 16 points, 14 rebounds and two blocked shots. Overman had 17 points and seven rebounds.
 
Jake Fobbe led the Bulldogs with 12.

Rocori scoring: Austin Overman 17 (7 rebounds); Derek Thompson 16 (14 rebounds, 2 blocked shots); Jon Olson 15; Alec Anderson 8 (3 assists); Connor Schoborg 5 (7 assists, 6 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 blocked shots); Ryan Hennen 4;  William Huls 3 and Will Matuska 2.
 
Orono 70, Becker 56
 
The Orono Spartans were led by Alexander Kill, who scored 26 points to lead all scorers in Orono’s win over Becker Wednesday in St. Cloud.
 
The Bulldogs (5-5) were led by Andrew Davalos, who scored 17 in the loss. Matt Yoerg contributed 13 for the Bulldogs.
 
Orono jumped out to a 10-point lead by halftime and held on in the second behind Kill’s shooting. The Spartans also got double-digit numbers from Samuel Sustacek, who had 14.
