The Becker Bulldog boys and girls track teams held their end-of-the-year banquets last week and handed out much-deserved awards. Girls Track The girls held their banquet/pot luck last Wednesday at the high school.

 

Head Coach Trish Reimer-Kealy awarded the letter winners, team awards, academic awards, all conference awards and new captains.

 

High scorer — Aubree Lahr;   Most dedicated — Alli Hendrickson; Most improved –  Victoria Kolbinger; Rookie of the year — Cassidy Pleoger.

 

Letters went to Haley Hubbard, Aubree Lahr, Kassidy Severson, Allyna Storms, Alli Hendrickson, McKenna Edling, Madi Kerzman, Miranda O'Brien, Kayden Westin, Payton Anderson, Victoria Kolbinger, Sydney Stommes, Jayna Adu-Gyamfi, Lexi Dehmer, Keeley Holm, Amelia Kirchner, Makenna Noaeill, Cienna Pleoger, Julia Bengtson, Alayna Lindquist, Courtney Nuest, Cassidy Pleoger, Jackie Yoerg and Adeline Kent.

 

PA awards were given to Lauren Gizzi, Aloran Nelson, Nikki O'Brien, Jessica Sand, Lauren Johnson, Abby Maruska, Tate Spinner, Callie Doucette, Arin Hendrickson, Fallon Peterson, Olivia Mateyka and Madison Pleoger.

 

Next year’s captains are Alli Hendrickson, Madi Kerzman, Kayden Westin and Miranda O'Brien.

 

SA awards went to Lahr, Hubbard and Hendrickson.

 

AC members are M.  O'Brien, Dehmer, Bengtson, Hendrickson, C. Pleoger, Kolbinger, Lahr and Kerzman.

 

Stommes, Holm and Hubbard were named to honorable mention.

 

Reimer-Kealy’s team was Granite Ridge Conference champions for the second year in a row, scoring an all time high point total for the conference.

 

The girls set a new indoor conference record set by the 4x800M team of Lindquist, Hendrickson, Bengtson and Dehmer.

 

Academic Gold Award

The Minnesota State High School Track Coaches Association awarded academic all conference to Lahr, Hubbard, Severson, Storms, Hendrickson, Kolbinger, Stommes, Adu-Gyamfi, Dehmer, Holm, Kirchner and C. Pleoger.

 

All State Academic Award

The ASAA awrards went to Lahr, Kolbinger, Hendrickson and Dehmer. 

 

Hendrickson and Kolbinger made the honor roll for the 3200M; Dehmer and Bengtson for the 1600M; Lahr for triple jump and pole vault; Kerzman for discus; and the 4x800M relay team of Lindquist, Hendrickson, Bengtson and Dehmer.

Pleoger, Westin, Anderson and Stommes,  (4x200M relay); Lindquist, Hendrickson, Bengtson and Dehmer, (4x800M relay).

 

Selected to the St Cloud Times All Area Honor Roll team were  Dehmer, Bengtson,  Kolbinger and Hendrickson.

 

“This was an outstanding group of kids to work with,” said Reimer-Kealy. “We enjoyed every day with them and are so proud of all their efforts and willingness to try new things and reach beyond boundaries.”  

 

Reimer-Kealy said this year's seniors were a big part of making up the personality of her team. 

 

“Hubbard, Severson, Lahr and Storms provided great leadership in so many ways and we commend them for that,” she said.  “We wish them much luck and hope they come back to visit their Becker track and field family! We will miss them.”

 

The boys held their banquet/pot luck last week at the high school with Head Coach Paul Schmidt and his coaching staff awarding the letter winners, team awards, academic awards, all conference awards and naming new captains.

 

The team’s letter winners were Austin Hemmelgarn, Brady Roesler, David Myres, Dawson Thom, Ethan Holm, Jon Novak, Jordan Gruenes, Justin Kringler, Kevin Andres, Mason Makarrall, Matt Davalos, Nick Radunz, Ryan Nohner, Sam Ricker, Sidney Boros, Cody Johnson, Jacob Drury, Michael Bloss and Luke Pappenfus.
