The Becker boys and girls track teams competed in the annual John Reimer Classic Invitational Thursday. The girls took second and the boys first.
Girls Track
Becker placed second out of eight teams: Pillager 126, Becker 104, Pierz 93.5, Staples Motley 72, Osakis 56, Holdingford 46.5, Long Prairie-Grey Eagle 36 and Crosby-Ironton 24.
Lexi Dehmer and Dani Nuest took home first place finishes in the 800M and 1600M and were part of the winning 4x400M relay and second place 4x800M relay.
Also in the 4x800M, Lexi Rose and Tasha Berthiaume ran a second place time of 10:22.57 to Staples Motley's time of 10:18.04.
In the 100M, Cassidy Pleoger took third (13.34) and Paige Maunu ninth (14.20).
Pleoger also was third in the 200M (27.65) and Abby Maruska seventh (29.320, Paige Maunu ninth (29.42)
Liz Mackedanz took third in the 400M with a PR time of 62.67, taking five seconds off her previous best! Keeley Holm was ninth with a season best time of 68.25 and Alyssa Gruenes 11th with a PR time of 70.16.
Lexi Dehmer took first in the 800M with a time of 2:29.9. Abby Sanderson had a PR time of 2:44.76 for fifth and Madison Pleoger took eighth in 2:49.9.
In the 1600 meters, Dani Nuest hung on for the win with a season best time of 5:33.83 to Kyanna Burton's time of 5:33.89.
Becker’s 3200 meter girls placed third, fourth, and fifth. Victoria Kolbinger returned to the lineup for third place, running 12:26.45. Lexi Rose was fourth in 12:33.14, and Tasha Berthiaume fifth in 12:38.16. These times place Lexi and Tasha on Becker's honor roll and Victoria is already a member in this race.
Callie Doucette had a good day in the hurdles placing fourth in the 100H (17.61) and a PR fourth in the 300 H race (52.57).
Sarah Woelfel placed eighth in the 100H with a time of 18.50 and Regan Hausmann ran 19.29. In the 300 H, Regan ran a PR time (52.89) for fifth and Sarah ran a season best time of 55.33.
The 4x100M relay team took first place in 53.73. Team members were Paige Maunu, Abby Maruska, Sarah Woelfel and Cassidy Pleoger.
The 4x200M relay team of Regan Hausmann, Cienna Pleoger, Madi Pleoger and Keeley Holm took fourth with a time of 2:01.37.
The 4x400M team of Abby Maruska, Liz Mackedanz, Lexi Dehmer and Dani Nuest had a best time of 4:21.59 to capture first. The second place team was Staples Motley with 4:29.91.
Field events were highlighted by Cienna Pleoger taking second in the triple jump with a jump of 31' 7.25. Abby Maruska was seventh (30' 2.5) and Keeley Holm eighth (29'7.25).
Paige Maunu placed fifth in the long jump with a PR jump of 15' 5.5
Sarah Woelfel and Alli Garding both jumped 4'4 in the high jump and in the pole vault, Jessica Gruenes vaulted 7'.
Anna Briggs had a mark of 25'4 in the shot put and a PR of 76' 6 in the discus.
Boys Track
The Becker boys came away with a decisive victory, scoring 130 points with Pierz coming in second with 108.5. Rounding out the team scoring was Pillager 94.5, Holdingford 71, Osakis 70, Staples-Motley 57, Crosby Ironton 26, and LPGE 1.
Becker's 4x800M team of Noah Fakhreddine, Basil Ricker, Jake Nelson, and Jordan Gruenes won with a time of 8:42. David Myres, who wasn't sure he would run due to some knee and back soreness, felt well enough to win the 110HH with a time of 15.58. He then turned around and ran a season best time of 40.97 in the 300 IH later on in the meet.
Gruenes and Fakhreddine then challenged each other in the 800M, with Gruenes winning with a top time of 2:02.61 and Fakhreddine with a 2:07.88. Both were PR's for them.
Kevin Andres won the 400M with a time of 51.91 and then was second in the 200M with a personal best time of the year at 23.10.
Tyson Ricker doubled in the 1600M and 3200M finishing in third place in both events — remarkable for an eighth grader. His time in the 1600M was his personal best at 5:00.69 and 10:51 in the 3200M.
Also running great races in the 1600M were Lukas Karel with a fifth place finish and a personal best time of 5:05. Dylan Johnson got sixth place with a time of 5:08.7. Lukas Karel also added a fifth place finish in the 3200M with a time of 11:10.
Jack Belde competed in three of the jumps and won the high jump at 5'8" as well as the triple jump at 40' 1". He was third in the long jump with a jump of 19'5".
Lucas Connor grabbed a sixth place finish with a time of 18'6". The boys 4x400M team of Andres, Cade Stommes, Belde, and Grunes won the race with a time of 3:35.8.
Other place winners were Michael Schmitz in the 110HH and 300IH, where he placed fourth and fifth and Cade Stommes in the 400M and pole vault with fifth and sixth places.

The boys and girls next compete Tuesday for True team in Milaca.
Update
At Hamline last Friday, Kevin Andres finished in fifth place with a top time of the year 50.07. The 4x400M relay team of Myers, Sam Ricker, Jack Belde ,and Andres finished ninth with at time of 3:35.1. Running in that meet with that competition is such a great experience for those guys. It was a fun meet.
At the same time the rest of the squad went to Pierz where they finished second to Pierz with a core of 71. Pierz won the meet with a score of 157.
For the girls, they took home first place in Pierz with 97.3333 points.
