Three Hornet Dancers earn All-State

For the first time in school history three dancers made all-state this season.

Freshman Morgan Panek, junior Victoria Lundquist, and senior Rowan Payne were the three that were selected.

Panek and Lundquist were chosen for Kick and Payne was chosen for Jazz. This is Payne’s fourth time making an all-state team, the most in program history. These athletes will compete at the 2024 All-State Performance on Saturday, March 2 at Eastview High School.

“These athletes are so incredibly deserving of this honor,” said Head Coach Kayla Kleinsteuber. “I know they will be wonderful representatives of the Big Lake Dance Team.”

The Big Lake Dance Team travelled south for their final regular season invitational of the season at Mounds View High School. The team finished fourth in Jazz and fifth in Kick against teams from all over the state. Other schools in attendance were Bloomington Kennedy, Chisago Lakes, Cretin-Derham Hall, Duluth Denfeld, Fridley, Hermantown/Proctor, Lake City, North Branch, Northfield, Willmar, and Yellow Medicine East.

The team will get a week to prepare for Sections this Saturday at ROCORI High School. The competitions will start at 11:30 a.m.
