Man accused of striking mini dirt bike with vehicle at Lupulin

C. Colbert, 18, of Big Lake, is charged with one count of Felony Assault-2nd Degree-Dangerous Weapon (609.222.1), one count of Misdemeanor Assault-5th Deg-Inflict or Attempt Bodily Harm (609.224.1(2)), and one count of Misdemeanor Traffic – Reckless driving (169.13.1(a)).

The defendant allegedly used his motor vehicle as a dangerous weapon to strike the tire of a mini dirt bike.

According to the complaint, on September 12, 2025, an incident occurred in the parking lot of Lupulin Brewing in Big Lake. Law enforcement reports that Colbert attempted to strike Victim 1 with his vehicle while the individual was riding a mini dirt bike. The defendant reportedly successfully struck the tire of the dirt bike with his motor vehicle.

Victim 1, who was recognized by the defendant, reported that he was grazed on the knee by Colbert’s vehicle and expressed his belief that the act was intentional. The complaint notes that the victim’s knee was bruised as a result of the contact. Following the collision, the two parties reportedly engaged in a verbal argument. During this dispute, Colbert allegedly punched Victim 1 in the head or face at least twice.

The defendant was charged via summons.
