The Becker Bulldogs Swim & Dive Team keeps on improving, losing their first meet to Big Lake last week, losing their second and winning their third this week, with all adding Section qualifiers to the team’s list.
Last Thursday, Big Lake hosted Becker and the Bulldogs lost 106-80.
“I see good potential for our swimmers this year. We have 10 more girls than last year for a total of 50 girls, “ noted Coach Tina Tamm. “Our challenge will be to swim faster. “
Tuesday saw the team at Foley, where they lost the meet to the Falcons.
“It’s always a tough meet against Foley,” said Timm. “We swim very well against them. Their girls push our girls to get personal best times every time we compete against them.”
The Bulldogs had some really good time drops and more Section qualifiers, including Sophie Diaz with the 50 free and Arleigh Pudlick with the 100 backstroke.
The team had home advantage on Thursday, where they hosted Princeton and won the meet.
“It’s our first win of the season,” said Tamm. “Our girls continue to drop time and achieve personal best times. Seeing the improvements at this point in the season is only a preview of what’s to come. If the girls continue to work hard, they will continue to see improved times.”
The meet also added to the team’s Section qualifier list, with Nev Baune with the 200 free, Tia Schaap with the 50 free, and Megan Swanson with the 100 Backstroke.
The Bulldogs Swim & Dive Team’s next meet is Sept 21 at Milaca.
