The Becker Blast 8u Columbia girls softball team competed in the Minnesota Softball Tier 6 State Tournament at Zane Sports Complex in Brooklyn Park on Sat., Sept. 28.  

They came home as state champions.

The group of 10 girls, ages 5-8 years old played four great games of softball, out-scoring their opponents 47-15 over those four games. 

The Championship game was a back and forth affair between Becker and a very talented Big Lake team. With the game tied 7-7 going into the final inning. Becker scored five runs in the top of the inning, and allowed only one run in the bottom of the inning to win the state championship, 12-8.
