The Becker Youth PK-6 wrestling program has had some participants successfully wrestling at recent state tournaments.
Ethan Anderson, Mason Doucette, Kaden Rish, Owen Angell, Landen Kujawa, Kaden Nicolas, Cash Stortz, and Bennett Kujawa traveled out of state to wrestle at some prestigious national wrestling tournaments, with some very competitive athletes.
Kaden Rish earned the coveted MWT Belt by taking 1st-6th place at three of the four Midwest Wrestling Tour tournaments.
The tour consists of The Hawkeye tournament in Iowa, the Jackrabbit tournament in South Dakota, the Badgerland tournament in Wisconsin and the Gopher State tournament in Minnesota.
Rish took sixth in Iowa, third in South Dakota and fourth in Wisconsin at the third and fourth grade, 75-lb bracket.
Three other Becker wrestlers are in contention for the belt this year. They are Kaden Nicolas, who placed third in South Dakota and fifth in Wisconsin at the 3/4 grade, 60-lb bracket; Cash Stortz placed fifth in both South Dakota and Wisconsin in the 3/4, 66-lb. bracket; Bennett Kujawa placed fifth in both South Dakota and Wisconsin in the 1/2 grade, 50-lb bracket.
Owen Angell placed third in the 8U, 70-lb. bracket at The Rumble on the Red tournament at the Fargodome held in North Dakota. Mason Doucette placed third at the Jackrabbit tournament in South Dakota in the 5/6 grade, 86-lb bracket.
