Pebble Creeks hosts 19th Annual Global Action Golf Classic

Pebble Creek hosted the 19th Annual Global Action Golf Classic last thursday in which 49 golfers participated. The event was held to raise support for Ukrainian Christians to help orphans, refugees and families affected by the war.

The golf tournament featured prizes, games and on-course events and also featured 16 hole sponosrs such as Midwest Bus Parts, Rebecca’s Cafe, North Risk Partners, Rice Real Estate Services, First Class Plumbing and Heating and Old Main Eatery. Other sponsors included: Thousand Hills Cattle Co., Peterson Bros. River Valley Farms, Marksman Metals, Sherburne State Bank, Ken Geroux Construction and Country Lumber.

A banquet followed the golfing and a delicious meal was served by staff at Pebble Creek.

Global Action was started in 1998 and their mission is to train Christian workers in 10 countries around the world. They only train people in their own countries where they know the language and the culture so they are immediately effective. Global Action estimates each graduate of their nine month program affects 59 to 75 people in the first year. So their annual golf tournament provides ministry to nearly 9800 people.

The tournament committee is made up of Barry Fluth (Big Lake), Paul Knier (Big Lake), Dwight Lundeen (Becker), Dave Larson (Big Lake) and Brett Krohn (Monticello), plus volunteer Ralph Kiffmeyer, (Big Lake).
