Becker Bulldog two-way player Beau Pauly was named Week 6 Defensive Player-of-the-Week by the Minneapolis StarTribune for his solid performance against Milaca last Friday night.
Pauly and the Becker defense posted their second straight shutout and sixth win on the year. The senior had a big hand in the win, having eight tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack and an interception in the 47-0 win over the Wolves.
The Becker defense has only given up 50 points in six games and have held opponents’ passing games to just 42 yards a game. Rushing, they’ve given up just 570 yards on the ground, averaging less than 100 yards a game.
Pauly, at 6’3” and weighing in at 215-lbs., added a rushing touchdown and 50 receiving yards on the offensive side of the ball against Milaca.
So far this year on defense, Pauly has 41 tackles — 25 solos and 16 assists. He has seven tackles for loss, one sack, two forced fumbles, one interception and two passes defended.
On offense, Pauly has 109 yards on the ground in 22 attempts averaging five yards a carry. He has three TDs. He has also caught four passes for 58 yards.
