The Clear Lake Lakers took two games this past weekend — beating the Stone Poneys by one Saturday and demolishing the Bandits by 12 Sunday.
Lakers 11, Stone Poneys 10
Clear Lake hosted Sartell Saturday afternoon and won the game in dramatic fashion.
Down by four heading into the seventh inning, the Lakers scored three runs to bring the game to 9-8, then scored three more times in the eighth to eke out the win in a Sauk Valley League baseball game.
Brandon Buesgens tallied four hits and Jake Samuelson notched four RBIs for the Lakers. Matt Korte also chipped in three RBIs in the win.
Twenty-four hits and four errors contributed to the 21 run slugfest.
Lakers 17, Bandits 5
The Lakers hosted the Becker Bandits Sunday and came away with an easy win in seven innings.
Cory Schmidt had four hits and Korte had three hits and five RBIs. Noah Vogt added four RBIs for the Lakers.
For Becker, Austin Rasmussen collected three hits while Ryan Sommerdorf notched two RBIs in the loss.
