Lady Bulldogs Split Two

The Becker Bulldog girls basketball team split two games this week to run their record to 8-6 on the year.
 
Washburn 45, Becker 43
 
Washburn’s Lucia Renikoff had 20 points while Shai'Anye Wesley had 10 as Minneapolis Washburn beat the Becker Bulldogs by two at Washburn Thursday night.
 
Becker’s Alexa Hanowski led the Bulldogs with 19.
 
Becker led by six at halftime but let the game slip away in the second half. Carlee Kobow also scored in double figures with 13 points.
 
Becker Scoring: Hanowski 19, Kobow 13, Alex Johnson 4, Kalley Anderson 2, Amanda Lindsay 2, Whitney Raygor 2 and Abbigail Morrell 1.
 
Washburn Scoring: Renikoff 20, Wesley 10, Olivia Downing 6, Kenda Zellner-Smith 4, Jazinae Patterson 3 and Elena Bagne 2.
 
Becker 57, Cathedral 43
 
Junior center Alex Johnson had 11 points to lead Becker past St. Cloud Cathedral in a Granite Ridge Conference showdown in Becker Tuesday.
 
Junior guard Whitney Raygor added 10 points for the Bulldogs.
 
Sophomore Julia Meyer had 16 points to lead the way for Cathedral.
 
Becker led 31-27 at halftime.
 
The Bulldogs climbed to 4-3 in the conference, just 2-1/2 games behind first place Foley and Albany (both tied at 6-0). Overall, the Bulldogs are 8-6.
 
Becker hosts Litchfield today (Saturday), then travels to Foley Friday for a 7:30 p.m. game.
