Johnson Scores 15, But Bulldogs Fall To Chargers

The Becker Bulldog girls basketball team wound up on the losing end of their first regular season game of the year — a 48-44 loss to Dassel-Cokato on the road Thursday.
 
Becker’s Alex Johnson scored 15 points and was the leading scorer for both teams. All eight Becker players who found some playing time scored at least one point.
 
DC was led by Taylor Sangren and Alayna Johnson — who each scored 11 points in the win. 
 
The Chargers also got scoring from every one of their players and they kept pace with the Bulldog scoring all night, finishing the first half up by two and the second half up by two.
 
Becker scoring: Johnson - 15, Rachel Vogl - 9, Alexa Hanowski - 7, Abbigail Morrell - 5, Haley Benda - 4, Amanda Lindsay - 2, Renee Tripp - 1 and Claire Thorn - 1.
 
Chargers scoring: Sangren - 11, Johnson - 11, Calli Maki - 6, Emily Schmidt - 5, Abby Munson - 5, Cassadi Kirchoff - 4, Lizzie Kutz - 2, Anna Carlen - 2 and Sarah Gillman - 2.
