The Big Lake girls lacrosse team won two out of three last week, including a conference victory last Friday.
Last Tuesday the Hornets overcame the rain to take down ROCORI and score a 13-5 victory. Leading the way for Big Lake were Amelia Gardner and Sloane Griesert scoring five and four goals, respectively, while each tacked on an assist as well. Amber Grunewald scored twice and had three assists.
On Thursday the team lost to Brainerd in a tightly contested match that finished 7-6. Goaltender Eleora Dixon made 11 saves and the team got goals from Danilyn Wemple, Mackenzie Dembinski, Hannah Weseloh, Ava Welberg, Gardner, and Griesert.
And on Friday the team dominated Sartell/Sauk Rapids-Rice by a score of 18-2. Big Lake held leads of 5-0 after one, 12-0 at the half, and 13-2 after three.
Next up is a Friday trip to Brainerd to take on the Warriors.
