The Big Lake volleyball team split their two contests this past week. 

Last Thursday, they lost to Orono, and on Tuesday they defeated Chisago Lakes in a Mississippi 8 Conference matchup. 

Against Orono, the team struggled to generate much on offense as they were swept 3-0 by the Spartans. That changed against Chisago as the Hornets started out hot winning the first two sets 25-15 and 25-17. The Wildcats tried to mount a comeback, but the team held on for a 26-24 victory to complete the sweep. 

Up Next

This week will be the last of regular season competition for the team before having a week off to prepare for playoffs. On Thursday they will travel to Cambridge-Isanti for their final conference game of the season. Then on Saturday, they will compete at a tournament at Bloomington Jefferson. 

Next Tuesday is the final regular season game against Robbinsdale Cooper, which will be at home.
