Hornets swim/dive at Milaca

On Saturday, the Hornets traveled to Milaca for the 47th Annual Milaca Swim and Dive Invitational. Other schools in attendance were Becker, Foley, Holdingford, Princeton, and Milaca. 

Big Lake’s top finisher in the 200-yd medley relay was the team of Abigail Fridgen, Emmelia Kortenkamp, Emily Edlund, and Adelyn Fox with a time of 2:15.59. Piper Fridgen had the team’s best time, 2:30.40, in the 200-yd freestyle and in the 500-yd freestyle with a 6:50.04. 

In the 200-yd IM, Kyla Wenderski had the top time with 2:53.78. Maia Wenderski swam a 1:16.52 in the 100-yd butterfly to lead the team. In the 200-yd freestyle relay the team of Adelyn Fox, Abigail Fridgen, Maia Wenderski, and Emily Edlund had the top time with 1:57.08. Alexis Magda-Bowlby led the team with a 1:25.58 in the 100-yd backstroke. 

In the 100-yd breaststroke Joey Cox swam a 1:23.32 to lead the team. And Madelyne Fridgen, Emmilia Kortenkamp, Greta Schwirtz, and Charlotte Overby were the top team for the Hornets in the 400-yd freestyle relay. 

Emily Edlund was the Hornet’s top swimmer on the day. She finished with the fourth best time in the 50-yd freestyle and the third best time in the 100-yd freestyle.

Coming up the team travels to Cambridge on Thursday and then hosts the Math and Science Academy next Tuesday.
