The Big Lake track and field team had some good performances at the Chuck Johnson Invitation at Princeton last Thursday.
For the boys, Owen Layton won the 800 meters in 1:57.24.
Wouson Nehwah had an impressive meet. He won the 300 meter hurdles in 43.73 seconds.
He finished third in the 100 meters in 11.99 seconds. He was third in the 110 hurdles in 16.98 and fourth in the high jump at 5’6.”
Montell Hester took second in the 200 meters in 23.88.
Gavin Flavin was third in the 1600 meters in 4:51.88. Gavin Vold placed fifth in 4:57.85.
Eighth-grader Judd Layton finished third in the 3200 meters in 10:32.70.
Josh Kennedy took third in the high jump at 5’8,” with Jerry Vazquez fifth at 5’6”. Kennedy was also fourth in the long jump at 18’5.”
Vishnu Deonarine had the longest throw for Big Lake in the shot put at 31’5”.
Chaz Hughes had Big Lake’s best throw in the discus at 84’3.”
David Guyse was fifth in the 800 meters in 2:08.87.
Dylan Kunz placed sixth in the triple jump at 35’10.5.”
Gavin Vold cleared nine feet in the pole vault for seventh.
The 4x100 relay team of Precieux Sanguma, Caleb Kennedy, Josh Kennedy and Jose Acuna took third in 48.54.
The 4x200 relay team of Josh Dupre, Tanner Muenkel, Dillon Anderson and Maurice Yekeku finished third in 1:42.8.
For the girls, Naomi Huizenga won the triple jump with a leap of 30’8”.
Leah Uphoff finished second in the 300 meter hurdles in 51.06. She ran 17.43 to take third in the 100 meter hurdles.
Britta White went 15’3” in the long jump to finish second.
Alayna Boe finished second in the pole vault at eight feet even.
Alivia Voss took third in the high jump at 4’10.”
Shiloh Elliott was fifth in the 100 meters in 14.15, with Eleonora Piva sixth in 14.22. Piva was also sixth in the 800 meters in 2:49.59.
Tayla Glassman went 41.44 in the wheelchair 100 meters and 1:08 in the 200 meters. She threw the shot put 20’2.5” and the discus 44’2.”
Greta Schwirtz took sixth in the shot put with a throw of 24’10”.
Arrianna Wagner was seventh in the 400 in 1:10.91.
Emily Edlund threw the discus 69’9” to take ninth.
Sydney Roy was ninth in the 200 meters in 30.15.
The girls’ 4x800 relay team of Maia Wenderski, Emilee Doperalski, Emily Shoop and Campbell Slattery crossed the finish line ahead of the field in 11:09.50.
The 4x200 relay team of Sydney Roy, Shiloh Elliott, Leah Uphoff and Eleonora Piva finished second in 1:55.09.
The Hornets competed in the True Team Meet at ROCORI Tuesday, results next week. They run at Monticello 4 p.m. Tuesday.
