Last Thursday, the Hornets volleyball team hosted Princeton in a Mississippi 8 Conference matchup. The visiting Tigers would end up victorious as they swept Big Lake 3-0.

Ashley Fitzgibbons was the team leader in assists with 15, but Kam Tschritter wasn’t far behind with 12 of her own. Fitzgibbons added nine digs and an ace, while Tschritter had four digs and two aces. Madison and Marissa Reed each filled up the stat sheet. Madison finished with six kills, four assists, three digs, a block, and an ace. Marissa had nine kills, four digs, two blocks, and an ace. Izzy Moudry contributed six kills, four digs, two blocks, and an ace. Jaz Dimkpa added eight kills and four digs. 

On Tuesday the team travelled to Hutchinson for a non-conference matchup against the Tigers. The Hornets started strong by taking the opening set, but Hutch rallied and took the next three for a 3-1 victory. 

The team will look to bounce back this week when they travel to Zimmerman on Thursday before returning home next Tuesday to take on St. Francis.
