The Big Lake Hornet basketball team had a rough week as they dropped two games in recent contests and fell to record of 8-4.

Last Friday, the Hornets struggled at Becker as they lost by 30, 87-57 in front of a packed Bulldog crowd on Staff Appreciation Night.

Becker entered the game 10–2, ranked No. 9 in the state, and sitting in first place in the Mississippi 8 Conference. Big Lake came in at 8–3 and in third place, just one game back, setting the stage for a highly anticipated rivalry matchup.

Tuesday, the Hornets led the Monticello Magic at halftime, but faltered in the second half to lose by 10, 86-76.

Scoring for the Hornets were: Trevor Stuckenholtz with 26 and Judd Laytonwith 19.
