The Big Lake volleyball team dropped a pair of road matches this past week. Last Thursday the team traveled to Delano and on Tuesday they went to North Branch.
The Hornets were unable to get much going against perennial power Delano, who is ranked #3 in Class 3A. The Tigers dominated from start to finish in a 3-0 sweep, with the closest game being 25-13.
Big Lake traveled to North Branch on Tuesday and came home with another 3-0 loss. The Vikings have finished the last two seasons as runners up in the Mississippi 8 Conference. The Hornets were much more competitive in this match. They dropped the opening set 25-21 and the final set’s margin was 25-19.
Next up is another conference matchup on Thursday when they team hosts Princeton, and then next Tuesday the Hornets will travel to Hutchinson.
