The Big Lake girls basketball team lost twice this past week in a pair of conference matchups. 

Rylie Sternquist led the way with 24 points as the Hornets fell to Cambridge-Isanti last Thursday. The team trailed by 15 at the break and was unable to pull any closer as they fell 70-53. Ashley Fitzgibbons added 11 points for the team. 

On Tuesday the team lost a close one against North Branch 66-61. The team trailed by six at halftime and was able to pull closer in the second half but ultimately fell short in the end. Strernquist once again led the team in scoring with 20 points, and the team got contributions from Fitzgibbons and Alexis Moen, each with 12 points. 

Next, the team hosted Princeton Thursday before travelling to Zimmerman on Monday.
