Hinrichs takes Pebble Creek Men’s Club Championship

Spencer Hinrichs shot a 33 on the final nine to claim the Pebble Creek Men’s club championship.

Hinrichs finished the 45-hole tournament at two under par. Hinrichs started the last nine two strokes behind Jackson Fluck but turned things in his favor when he rolled in a 45-foot birdie on hole four while Fluck bogeyed. Hinrichs went on to birdie five, seven, and eight to take the lead and win the tournament.

Joe Sauer finished third. Chad Matthews, Zach Johnson and Barry Quernemoen also qualified to play the “Final Nine” which takes the low four gross players plus anyone within three strokes of third place after 36 holes to determine the club champion.

In the net flights, Barry Quernemoen fired a Net 68 on day one and held on to beat Zach Johnson by two strokes with a net 143.

Mark Dunderi opened the tournament with a gross 33 on the opening nine and never looked back, finishing negative six net to win the second flight. Lonnie Fluck finished second win a pair of net 71’s defeating Tony Wernsing, who shot 33 gross on the front nine Sunday, by one stroke

Pat Utz used a 69-67 net score to win the third flight. Steve Engelby overtook Wayne Yarke, who was tied with Utz after day one to finish second.

Jim Anderson shot a net 70 in the final round to beat Scott Paulson by one stroke and Mark Friedericks by three to win the fourth flight title.
