As the Becker girls track team prepared for this past Wednesday’s conference track meet, they participated in one final meet to get ready.
Last week, they participated in the Monticello Final Countdown meet, a unique competition that features a shorter lineup and several events which are not held. No team scores are kept in the meet, but the Bulldogs captured three first place finishes.
Lauren Woelfel took care of business in the pole vault, clearing 10 feet, while Kailey Thompson placed first in the 100 hurdles with a personal record time of 16.18. Lexi Rose was the other top finisher, scoring the win in the 400.
Abby Atwood added a second in the 400, while Kaylyn Rickard was third; in the 100, Salayna Allen was fourth, Josie Reckelberg was fifth and Kylee Morton was seventh. Reckelberg was fourth in the 200 and Morton finished fifth in that race.
In the 800, Alea Briggs was fourth in a PR time of 2:25.07, while Katelyn Brower took seventh with her own PR time of 2:32.92
Raelee Lyon was fourth in the 100 hurdles, while Woelfel finished fifth.
In the field events, Sadie Massey was eighth in the shot put, while Bella Kuschel was seventh in the high jump.
Violet Johnson and Sophia Otto tied for fifth in the pole vault and Morton added a fourth in the long jump, while Sylvia Stoeckel tied for fifth.
In the Triple Jump: Josie Reckelberg was fifth and Woelfel seventh, while the CoEd 4x400 relay team of Briggs, Tanner Felton, Rose and Owen Angell took third.
The Conference Championships were held on Wednesday at Zimmerman. Full results will be available in next week’s Patriot.
