The Becker Bulldog girls soccer team went 2-1 this past week to improve to 11-2 (10-4).
Becker 8, St. John’s 0
Becker cruised past St. John’s Prep in a Granite Ridge Conference game at home Thursday night.
Senior Erica Brovold had two goals, Megan Peterson had two goals, Madeline Corey onegoal and one assist, Claire Voigt one goal and Lauren Sticha one goal and three assists.
Anna Bender had 10 saves in goal for the Johnnies (4-9-1 overall).
Becker 2, Willmar 0
The girls soccer team won Monday's home non-conference game against Willmar by a score of 2-0.
The Bulldogs outshot the Cardinals 16-3.
Becker’s Sticha scored a goal in the 12th minute, and Emma Domka notched the second in the 62nd minute to give the Bulldogs the win. Sticha also had one assist.
Willmar goalie Laura Christianson made 13 saves.
Detroit Lakes 2, Becker 0
The Laker girls soccer team dominated play in a shutout victory at Becker Saturday, defeating the Bulldogs 2-0.
The Lakers fired off 12 shots including a couple that hit posts but were unable to score in the first half.
The DL defense held the Bulldogs in check with only three first half shots, but Becker hung with the Lakers for a 0-0 score at halftime.
Detroit Lakes finally got a couple tallies in the second half while Becker missed their few-and-far-between opportunities.
The Lakers finished with a 17-5 advantage in shots in the game.
