Girls Soccer Has Tough 4 Game Week

The Bulldogs Girls Soccer team had a tough four game week, winning one and losing two, with their fourth game held Saturday morning.

The week started off in St. Cloud on Monday, where the Bulldogs beat Apollo in a high scoring game 8-3. Megan Gamble had a hat-trick, Alaynna Suchy scored two, and Faith Madsen, Emma Domka and Elle Schendzielos scored a goal each.

Faith Madsen had three assists, and Emma Domka and Kaylin Peterson had two assists each.

Tuesday the team traveled to North Branch for a conference game and lost a tough match 2-1, conceding a goal in the last 30 seconds.

“Becker scored the first goal and we felt we were in control of the game for the majority of the game,” said Coach Arnold Changamire. “But soccer is a cruel game as North Branch equalized in the last 10 minutes and then scored the winning goal at the end.”

Alaynna Suchy scored the team’s only goal in the match.

Thursday the team celebrated Parent’s Night and hosted Cambridge-Isanti in another conference game, which they lost 4-2.

“Cambridge took a 3-0 lead into half time,” said Changamire. “We rallied and scored two quick goals, then Cambridge beat us on the counter as we were trying to get the 3rd tying goal.”

Emma Domka had a goal and an assist, and Chloe Rothstein scored the second goal.

The Bulldogs wrap up the week this Saturday with a home game against St. Cloud Tech.
