Girls soccer at 3-2 to start season

The Becker Bulldog girls’ soccer team has begun the season with three wins and two losses in their first five games, led by senior Captains Abby Atwood, Charlie Ebert, and Kailey Thompson. 

Vs. Apollo

The Bulldogs attack wasted no time in the first game of the season Aug. 22 against St. Cloud Apollo by outscoring the Eagles 14-1. Leading the charge was Abby Atwood, scoring five goals and with one assist. Also scoring on the night were, Alyssa Kinney three, Andie Changamire three with one assist, Kali Schendzielos two, and Qolbe Olson one. Olson also recorded seven saves on the night.  

Vs. SWCA

The Bulldogs gave a great effort against Southwest Christian Academy on Aug. 24, but fell short with a 4-1 loss. Charlie Ebert scored the lone goal with goal tender Olson recording 19 saves. Coach Arnold Changamire said the girls played extremely well against a top rated school in the state. 

Vs. Tech

Becker held on in the first half, but fell short with a loss to St Cloud Tech, 6-0 on Aug. 28. Goalkeeper Olson recorded 13 saves on the night. 

Vs. Rockford

The Lady Bulldogs were able to earn another win with a 4-0 victory against Rockford on Sept. 3. Scoring on the night were Andie Changamire with two goals, Abby Atwood one, and Adele Changamire one. 

Vs. Tigers

Becker controlled the attack against the Princeton Tigers with a 3-0 victory on Sept. 5. Becker showed dominance with their passing skills as they advanced the ball down the field and held the ball on offense for most of the contest. Scoring on the night were Charlie Ebert, Adele Changamire, and Abby Atwood, assisted by Alyssa Kinney.
