Girls Lacrosse Team Wins One, Lose One To Close Out Regular Season

The Becker Bulldog girls lacrosse team closed out their regular season going 1-1 to finish 4-9.

Becker 8, MWT 7
The girls hosted Mound Westonka Tuesday at home and eked out a one-goal win.

Becker started the game by allowing an early goal by the White Hawks 15 seconds in to the game.

The Bulldogs didn’t let that get them down as they responded with Rachel Eisenreich feeding the ball to Daisy Kent to get the home team on the board.

Sarah Garding used strong play to get back-to-back goals to give Becker the lead at 3-1.

By the time the first half closed out, Becker found themselves holding onto a 5-4 lead.

Mound Westonka evened the game at five when they scored at the 13:31 mark.

Both teams squandered several scoring opportunities until Brookelyn Beutz took the ball on a wrap, beating two White Hawk defenders to get the winning score with 1:41 seconds left in the game.

STMA 10, Becker 5
Becker started out in the hole once again after giving up an early goal to STMA Thursday on the road.

Momentum quickly shifted for Becker when Ali Zimmer scored 20 seconds after STMA’s first score to tie the game.

The two teams then  went goal-for-goal until late in the first half when the Knights tagged Becker for three unanswered goals to go up 6-4 at the half.

STMA made some adjustments at half and came out for the final frame with their defense tightened up. Becker could only muster one more goal the rest of the way as the Knights swarmed the Bulldog net and came away with four goals to separate the tight match.
