Becker’s own Hannah Garcia helped her St. Scholastica golf team capture the season-opening Twin Ports Collegiate title for the fourth consecutive year.
St. Scholastica held off the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire by seven strokes Aug. 31 at the Nemadji Golf Course.
Garcia, a sophomore, posted a 97 (+26) to finish 20th.
Sept. 5, St. Scholastica won the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Preview Tournament at Pebble Creek Golf Club by 31 strokes. For the second straight tournament, Hannah Johnson of Two Harbors captured Medalist honors.
Garcia finished second behind Johnson with an 86 (+14). Garcia had two birdies in her round to lead all players in the tournament. She also registered six pars.
The 349 team score was the best round at Pebble Creek Golf Course in program history and was 21 strokes better than last year’s UMAC Preview.
