Former Becker student and golfer Jackson Fluck carded an NACC tournament record 67 at Stonebridge Country Club to help lead the Aurora University Spartans to a conference championship and a trip to the NCAA Division III Golf Championship May 14-17 KY at Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville, KY.
Fluck’s 5-under 67 was an 18-hole championship record and just the second sub-70 round in championship history. Fluck posted five birdies in a bogey-free round.
That followed Sunday, where he hit 13 of 14 fairways and 16 greens to shoot a one-under 71, which tied his teammate Craig Schlegel for the low round of the day.
Aurora shot four-under par as a team over the final two days to erase a six-stroke deficit to win the NACC (Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference) by 20 strokes. Their final day 284 (-4) was also a new NACC team championship record.
This is Fluck’s and Aurora’s second straight appearance in the National Tournament.
Fluck was also recently named the NACC Men's Golf Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of April 28-May 5, 2019, as selected by the league's sports information directors.
Jackson is the son of Lonnie and Katey of Becker.
