THE BECKER WHITE GIRLS FIFTH-GRADE BASKETBALL TEAM captured first place last weekend in the 2015 White Hawk Classic tournament in Mound-Westonka. The team is coached by Brandon Kent (back row, right) and Joel Toedter (back row, left). The team consists of Adeline Kent, Chelsey Orozco, Christine Orozco, Kennedy Rusin, Alexis Goebel, Emily Totz and Skyler Schug.

Fifth Graders Take Home First Place At Tournament

The Becker White fifth-grade girls basketball team toom home first place last weekend at the 2015 White Hawk Classic tournament at Mound-Westonka.
 
In Becker’s first game last Sunday, they squeezed out a 21-20 win over Watertown-Mayer at Mound-Westonka High  School and followed that up with a 21-17 win over the Holy Angels Stars.
 
In the championship game, Becker White beat Buffalo Purple, 22-14 on the main floor to take home the first place prize.
 
The team is coached by Brandon Kent and assisted by Joel Toedter and consists of Adeline Kent, Chelsey Orozco, Christine Orozco, Kennedy Rusin, Alexis Goebel; Emily Totz and Skyler Schug.
 
In other fifth-grade play, the Becker Blue team went 1-2 in their bracket, losing 14-11 to NYA and 22-17 to Rockford White while winning against Westonka Red, 18-8.
 
In sixth-grade play, the Becker team took third place after losing their first round game to Buffalo, 22-19, then rebounding to beat Westonka Red, 23-9 and Bengals Blue, 28-14 to finish in the top three.
