Fall Sports Teams Busy As Summer Winds Down

With the 2017-18 school year just around the corner, the fall sports teams have been busy hitting the fields, courts, streets, pools and pitches to get ready for the upcoming season.

Dwight Lundeen and his coaches occupied many of the open spaces near the soccer fields to run drills and get the kids in shape for their first game Sept. 1 at Chisago Lakes.

Arnold Changamire and Alex Jurek had their boys and girls soccer teams practicing ball-handling skills and passing on the soccer fields. The boys’ first game is Aug. 24 at Cambridge-Isanti and the girls kick things off the same day at home against Big Lake.

Tina Tamm and Kayla McCalla have their kids dipping their toes in the water, preparing for the upcoming swimming and diving season which begins on the road in Big Lake Aug. 31.

Greg Lynch has been busy getting his feet wet as the new varsity head volleyball coach — organizing practices and determining what players are head-and-shoulders above the rest. Thier first game is Aug. 28 at Rogers.

Trish Reimer-Kealy and her assistant coaches have their kids running the streets of Becker in the early mornings to stretch their legs for the upcoming season which begins Aug. 31 at Princeton.
