Other Important
Information
Activity fees will be $170 (HS) and $135 (MS) for athletics and $95 (HS) and $85 (MS) for arts and other activities. There will be a family cap of $700 for the year.
The activities office reminds all new seventh graders that they need to receive a MSHSL sports qualifying physical from their physician before they will be allowed to participate in MSHSL-sponsored athletics. Physicals are only good for three years, so 10th graders and others whose physical has expired will need to have another physical done in order to participate. If one has any questions about whether or not one’s son or daughter’s physical is current, contact the activities office. Appropriate physical forms can be downloaded at www.mshsl.org/mshsl/publications/code/forms/PhysicalExam.pdf.
A hard copy of the current sports qualifying physical still needs to be turned into the activities office before participation in activities will be allowed.
Athletic schedules will be available online at www.mississippi8.org. Because the school is transitioning to a new conference this year, the MSHSL is waiting for the people at other schools to update the Mississippi 8 Conference website — which should also be done very soon.
The activities office reports there will be a fall sports registration meeting Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. All parents are asked to go to the gym for a short large group meeting with Dave Niemi. There will be break off meetings for individual sports following. All fall participants and parents are encouraged to attend.
