Engelby And Timmer Take First Place In Men’s Club Best Ball Play

The spring weather has finally broke and members of the Pebble Creek Men’s Club are smiling and celebrating as they continue their weekly play in the 18-hole league, the nine-hole league and senior league.
 
18-Hole League
Steve Engelby and Bill Timmer netted a 61 to take first place in the 18-hole league, one-of-two man best ball tournament this week. They gained six MVP points in the race for the title.
 
Ryan Isaacson and Dan Brannan had the second lowest net score of 62, which garnered them four MVP points.
 
For the year-to-date MVP points scoring, four players are tied for first with six points and that list includes Pat Utz, Allen Novotny, Engelby and Timmer. Tied for second with four points are Isaacson, Brannan and Mike McCann. Lonnie Fluck is the sole possessor of third place with three points and Ted Crow and Chad Matthews are tied for fourth with two points apiece.
 
9-Hole League
Thirteen teams comprise the league that plays on the Local 9 part of Pebble Creek and two teams are tied for first place so far.
 
Team #4, consisting of Tom Keller, Erik Olsen, Mark Bertram and Greg Konerza took sole possession of first place after week three and have a combined team score of 186.
Second place is held by Team #8 (Brad Roesler, Steve Perry, John Hardekopf and Jeff Benda) with a 190.
 
Third place is held by two teams who are tied — Team # 1 (Fluck, Ryan Seavert, Scott Kerzman and Mike Trauer)  and Team #12, consisting of Christopher Reed, Andy Thelen, Chad Rinkenberger and Jarrod Rober Morgan have 192 scores.
 
Team #6 (Wayne Yarke, Barry Ashmore, Steve Engelby and Bill Timmer) is fifth with a score of 194. Team #10 (Utz, Greg Mattson, Kantorowicz and Matthews) is sixth with a 199 score.
 
Team #2 (Dan Brannan, Tom Kahlert, Scott Pauly and Mark Staller) is seventh with 202, Team #7 (Pete Hollis, Brandon Duane Dorma, Mitch Friesz and Jerry Vetsch) is eighth at 209, Team #11 (Brad Johnson, Novotny, Jason Thom and Bob Wilcox) is ninth at 214 and Team #9 (Milton Werner, Brock Tatge, Joe Gruenes and Spencer Bjerga) is 10th at 233.
 
Team #5 (Andy Voller, Chad Lane, Rick Torkkola and Mitch Sloan) is 11th at 235, Team #13 (Eron Lee Borsdon, Brian Musech, John Koshiol and Scott Ralph) is 12th at 250 and Team #3 (Joe Schwartkopf, Mike Domka, Justin Kelley and Paul Nelson) is 13th with an NC.
 
Senior League
As of May 18, 16 men comprise the senior league and after three weeks, Patrick Utz has taken over the lead. Utz shot a 70 while Bill Timmer shot a 64 and Greg Mattson a 72 to jump ahead of last week’s leader, Lonnie Fluck, who shot a 78. Timmer is now in second place, Mattson third and Fluck fourth.
 
In fifth is Jim Anderson, who shot a 75.  Sixth place is held by Mike Doering, who carded a 73, seventh place is held by Curt Renslow, who shot a 69 and eighth place is held by Ryan Isaacson, who shot a 73.
 
Barry Ashmore is in ninth place after shooting a 75, Dan Brannan in 10th place after shooting a 69, Wayne Yarke is in 11th place after posting a 73 and Terry Haley nails down 12th place after he shot an 84.
 
In 13th is Steve Engelby, who carded a 72 after missing last week. Same was true for Ken Batts at 14th as he shot a 77 after missing week two. Lyle Herbst is in 15th place after he shot an 81 and Bernard Hancock holds 16th place after shooting a 107 in his first week of play.
