The Becker Big Lake varsity hockey Eagles beat ora-Hinkley-Finlayson in an away game Thursday, 4-3.
The game was scoreless at the end of the first period but the Eagles Zack Vieau scored first for the Eagles with 4:15 gone in the second period, with an assist from Zach Muller. Mora came back a few minutes later to tie it up But Vieau scored against 14:35 to put the Eagles ahead.
A few seconds later, Ben Gilchrist scored on a power play with a assist from Vieau, putting the Eagles ahead by two. Mora came back at 15:37 and the second period ended with the score at 3-2 in the Eagles favor.
Mora came out in the third period to score at 6:30, tying up the game. But Vieau scored again at 9:56 with an assist from Alex Green for the win. The Eagles had 24 shots on goal. Mora had 22.
The Eagles lost to Prairie Centre at home Saturday, 7-3 and to the Webster, Siren, Frederick, Luck and Grantsburg Blizzard, 3-2 Tuesday.
The Blizzard scored first Tuesday but Eagle Jason Tonneslan tied it up at 15.02 in the first period.
Green scored the only goal for the Eagles of the second period during a power play with assists from Trey Gust and Tonneslan.
But the Blizzard came back to score two unanswered goals in the third period to take the game. The Blizzard had 13 shots on goal and the Eagles had 25.
In the game against Prairie Centre, Gust scored first for the Eagles with an assist from Taylor Giving at 2:57 in the second period after a scoreless first period.
Prairie Center came back and scored three times before Vieau scored unassisted at 9:34 to put the score at 3-2 Prairie Center.
Prairie Centre came back and scored two more goals in the second period. In the third period, they scored again. Gust, assisted by Nick Stalpes, scored for the Eagles at 7:57 but Prairie Centre scored again to take the win.
Prairie Centre had 31 shots on goal. The Eagles had 29.
This week the Eagles take on Little Falls Tuesday and Moose Lake Thursday at home at the Princeton Ice Arena. Game time is 7:15 p.m.
The Hornets are 2-4 overall in the Two Rivers Conference.
