Eagles Lost 3 In A Row

St. Cloud Tech 11, Eagles 1

The Eagles couldn't keep up with St. Cloud Tech, who won 11-1 Dec. 11.

St. Cloud Tech scored eleven unanswered points.

In the first and second, the Eagles were scored on eight times. By the third, St. Cloud Tech scored three more to boast a high lead with eleven points before the Eagles were able to score late in the third. As a result, the Eagles record went to 1-3 on the season.

Little Falls 5, Eagles 1

The Eagles hosted Little Falls Tuesday. Little Falls outscored the Becker-Big Lake team, 5-1. Eagles goaltender Justin Morrow was able to hold off 23 of 25 shot attempts against him in the first period. The Eagles were forced to play a largely defensive game, having only one shot attempt against Little Falls. In period two, Little Falls was able to score two more, making it 4-0. 

The first goal in the second by Little Falls was a tip by an offensive player just in front of the net, the second goal was outside the faceoff dots, down low in the zone. 

"It was nearly blocked, barely sliding through the legs," said Eagles goaltender Justin Morrow.

In the third period, the Eagles got a 'scrim' in front of the Little Falls net, allowing them to score their only goal of the game. Little Falls enjoyed an offensive game, having only six shot attempts by the Eagles against them, and five saves against the Eagles. In total, the Eagles had 67 total shots against them, with 62 saves.

Pine City 8, Eagles 1

The Becker-Big Lake hockey team lost at home Thurs. 

The first period was evenly matched, with a goal scored early by both teams. Sophomore Alec Doran gave the Eagles their only goal just one minute in. In period two, Pine City would score five goals against the Eagles, and two more goals in the final period.

Eagles goaltender Justin Morrow saved 32 of 39 shots against him before Zach Piehl would take over, saving six of seven shot attempts. The Eagles would score once of the 12 total shots taken against Pine City.

The Eagles currently in fourth place in the Two-Rivers conference, with a record of 1-5-0, Pine City is in first place for the conference, at 5-4-0.

The Eagles play Monticello Dec. 19. After the holidays, the Eagles will play Austin Dec 28. and Windom Dec. 29, both games will be held in Richfield.

With this most recent loss, the team falls to 1-5 on the season.   

Their next game is Dec. 19, when the team takes on Monticello. The Eagles’ next home game occurs in the New Year, when Litchfield comes to town  Jan. 5.
