The Becker-Big Lake Eagles lost to the Monticello-Annandale-Maple Lake Stars in the first round of section play-offs, 4-2, Saturday.

 

Monticello was seeded number 8 and The Eagles were seeded Number nine. Monticello is in the Mississippi 8 Conference while the Eagles play in the Two Rivers Conference.

 

Monticello now faces number one seed Bemidji Tuesday at Bemidji at 7 p.m. The winner of that game will face the winner of a Tuesday game between Buffalo and Brainerd Saturday at 7 p.m. Buffalo is seeded number four and Brainerd is seeded number five.

 

The Eagles end their season with a record of five wins and 20 losses and in fourth place in the Two Rivers Conference.

 

Seniors graduating from the team this summer include Brandon Christianson, Taylor Giving, Nick Stalpes, Grant Vickerman and Adam Schug.

 

The Eagles are coached by Doug Friedrichs. Assistant coaches are Scott Barta and Tim Houghton. Student managers are Aerica Joos and Maddie Beaupre.
