Eagles drop to 3-2 in conference

Becker/Big Lake competed against Rochester Mayo Spartans and the Austin Packers recently.

Vs. Rochester Mayo

During the Spartans’ game, senior Ray Clark scored a goal with an assist from senior Gavin Jacobson and junior Titus Borkoski.

The Spartans had gotten on the board first, so this goal squared up the score.

Another goal was scored by the Spartans to give them a 2-1 lead, which would continue to grow after the Spartans scored another goal in the second.

The Spartans would finish off the Eagles in the third with the final goal, making the final score 4-1.

Vs. Austin

Next up was the game against the Austin Packers and the Eagles were able to start the game off strong with a power play goal from senior Ethan Grafnitz with assists from Clark and senior Tate Spilde. Senior captain Carter Tatge would go on to score an even-strength goal with assists from junior Brant Russin and senior Hayden Kipka to expand the lead to 2-0.

The second period was hard for the Eagles, with the Packers scoring five goals and the Eagles scoring one goal by Spilde off a power play with assists from Grafnitz and senior Tanner Felton.

The third and final period is where the Packers scored their final two goals, giving Austin a 7-3 win.

Currently, the Eagles are 6-5 overall and 3-2 in the conference.
