Eagles Defeat Fairmont, 6 2

The Becker Big Lake Eagles beat Fairmont, 6-2, in an away game this week. Senior Tucker Wilkendorf scored the first goal with an assist from Jake Piehl at 5:58 in the first period.

Eagle Zack Vieau scored again 90 seconds later with an assist from Ben Gilchrist. 
 
In the second period, Fairmont came back, scoring twice to tie up the score. But at 11:22 in the period, Ethan Boutin scored unassisted to put the Eagles ahead, 3-2. Milan Kent scored with an assist from John Messman at 14:28 and the Eagles never looked back. The period ended with the score at 4-2 in the Eagles favor. 
In the third period, senior Jason Tonneslan scored twice, once unassisted and once with an assist from Piehl. The game ended 6-2.
 
The Eagles had 39 shots on goal versus Fairmont’s 19.
 
The Eagles take on River Lakes in an away meet Friday, see results in next week’s paper. They play the Mora Mustangs at home Tuesday at Princeton Ice Arena at 7:15 p.m.
 
The Eagles are in fourth place in the Two Rivers Conference with a season record of 7-7-0.
