Dance team breaks records at State Meet

In a season full of outstanding performances and broken records, the Becker Dance Team outdid themselves once again. The team is no stranger to performing at the Target Center, having made the state tournament two years in a row, but this year they reached the final round in Jazz for the first time in school history on Friday.

At the state tournament the 12 qualifiers all perform in the preliminary round and then the top six teams are selected to compete again for medals. Before this season the best a Becker team had finished in the prelim round was eighth, but this year they broke through and made it to the finals.

The team finished sixth in the final round but improved their overall score from their preliminary performance.

On Saturday the team competed in Kick and continued to reach new heights with a seventh place finish. While this wasn’t enough to reach the finals it did surpass the previous highest ranking of 11th.

Head Coach Nadia Fischer-Danzeisen had this to say about the season as a whole, “We’ve had an impressive season overall. However, what’s really been impressive is our athlete’s dedication to our team values and being committed to our individual responsibilities to make the team better.”
