THE CLAYBA WILLIE MAYS BLUE TEAM finished their 2015 season by winning the year-end tournament at Clearview Elementary last weekend. Their regular season record was 13-0 and their playoff record 5-0. The team consists of coaches Israel Carper, Scott Reagan (and others unidentified) as well as players Jonah Atkinson, Sam Carper, Cayden Doering, Joshua Groskreutz, Jaxon Kenning, Sutton Kenning, Ethan Lindholm, Caleb Marquis, Bjorn Mattick, Andrea Reagan, Ivan Reagan, Connor Sanchez and Benjamin Schwartz.

Clayba Willie Mays Blue Team Wins Tourney

The CLAYBA (Clear Lake Area Youth Baseball Association) Willie Mays Blue team went 13-0 in the regular season and 5-0 in the playoffs to finish their undefeated season at 18-0. 
 
They played teams from Big Lake, Becker and Clearwater/Clear Lake last Saturday and Sunday at Clearview ending the 2015 Willie Mays season.  
 
Willie Mays is an in-house baseball program intended for children in their second to sixth year of baseball and currently attending third or fourth grade.  
 
(Exceptions can be made for younger players with advanced skills.)  
 
Players must be 10 years old or younger by April 30 of this year.  Pitching and the catcher position are introduced at this level with other more advanced skills. Base stealing is not allowed.
 
The Willie Mays teams played Tuesdays and Thursdays with practices held at Clearview Elementary where they also hold home games. Away games were either in Becker or Big Lake. Games are two hours maximum and up to six innings.
 
CLAYBA would like to thank all the families that supported us this season and the board, players and members can't wait for next year.
