The Becker Buzzards men’s baseball team are ine game away from completing their regular season part of their schedule and are gearing up to defend their 2017 and 2018 state titles with another good run.
The current standings in the Northwest League have the Buzzards in first place with an 8-1 record.

Back on July 27, the Buzzards hosted the Menahga Relics and the Urbank Goldtimers for a three team round robin tournament.
Game one featured the Buzzards versus the Relics in a matchup of the top two teams in the league. The Relics held the lead for most of the game, but in the bottom of the seventh, the Buzzards plated two runs and came away with a 5-4 win.
Tanner Bakke started on the mound and Jason Pfingsten came in and relief to pick up the win.
In the nightcap, the Buzzards took on the Goldtimers and came away with an easy, 15-1 win. Brian Kolbinger picked up the win and Pfingsten again came in to close out the game.
Sunday, the Buzzards traveled to Morris and picked up two wins by scores of 7-0 and 11-0. Tanner Bakke and Brian Kolbinger were the winning pitchers.
The Buzzards finish out the regular season at home against Kensington at 2 p.m. Sunday.

The state tournament will take place Aug. 17-18 and 24-25.
