The Becker Bulldog girls volleyball team battled, but lost a heartbreaker to Big Lake, 3-1 in their Section 8AAA playoff game Wednesday at home.  

 

“I am proud of the way we handled ourselves tonight,” said Head Coach Taylor Essen. “The girls played well and never gave up. It’s a hard way to end such a great season with a very talented team.”

 

The final scores of the four game match were, 21-25, 24-26, 25-21, 28-30.

 

Becker’s Sam Haugen had seven kills, four blocks and four digs in the loss. Sam Angell had13 kills, three blocks, 12 digs and two aces.

 

Kalie Jergens had eight kills, two blocks and two aces; Sydney Busch and Whitney Raygor combined for 27 assists and 13 digs; Alexa Hanowski had 27 digs; Megan Albertson, Kalley Anderson and Brynn Barthel combined for 10 blocks.

 

Sammy Gruber provided excellent passing and defense throughout the game.
