Monday night, the Becker Girl’s soccer team defeated Big Lake in a conference playoff game 3-0. 

Becker was ranked #15 and Big Lake was ranked #2.  It was Becker’s first win of the season after going 0-10-1. Big Lake was 6-1-3 heading into the matchup.

Scoring for the Bulldogs were junior Riley Norberg, assisted by senior Alaynna Suchy. Senior  Megan Gamble scored the second goal with an assist from Norbert. 

Gamble also scored the third goal with an assist from senior Faith Madsen.

Sophomore Liz Mackedanz recorded her first varsity shutout with 17 saves. She has been filling in for junior Amanda Miner, who is injured.  The Bulldogs advanced to play at 4 p.m. Wednesday against Heritage Christian Academy. Look for a full report on the match in next week’s Patriot.
