Bulldogs Get Big Win To Halt Losing Streak

The Becker Bulldog boys basketball team split two games this week to even their record at 6-6, putting to rest a six-game losing streak.

Becker 56, Foley 50

Becker rebounded from Monday’s loss at St. Cloud to capture a big Granite Ridge Conference win Tuesday at Foley.

Matt Yoerg exploded for 24 points to lead all scorers as he went 7-of-15 from the floor and 9-of-10 from the charity stripe to aid the Bulldogs in their sixth win.

Andrew Klucas was Foley’s top scorer with 15.

The Bulldogs took advantage of Foley’s aggressive style by nailing 18-of-28 free throws — including 3-of-4 from Dawson Thom, 3-of-6 from Hunter McCalla and 9-of-10 from Yoerg. Foley converted 11 of their 18 free throws.

Becker’s top scorer was Fobbe with 14 and no other Bulldog player reached double digits. The Bulldogs shot 43% from the field and made six of 14 free throws, but their 14 turnovers to Apollo’s six spelled the difference.
